You don’t have to skip houses that don’t have their porch lights on. And, best of all, most trunk-or-treating locations are set up on days that aren’t Halloween night, meaning you can double up your efforts by attending a trick-or-trunk and then trick-or-treating in the neighborhood on October 31. Grab a burger and some frozen custard after collecting candy at this fun Halloween trunk-or-treat in Joplin. Last year, over 100 cars were on hand to pass out candy to more than 300 trick-or-treaters. This year’s Boo-Fest Cruise-In should be even grander, with prizes being awarded to the best-dressed kid.
In addition to dinner and trunk-or-treating, this free event will also have live music, contests, fun activities, and a great selection of trucks, hot rods, and other unique vehicles. It’s part car show, part trunk-or-treat, so you can bet that we’ll be there. (It’s right down the road from our Joplin Honda dealership!)

Live east of Joplin? Try Marionville’s 3rd Annual Family Funday for trunk-or-treating fun and a wicked car show. Activities are all family-friendly, and the hosts are giving several prizes away for “best dressed” categories based on age, like “Miss Pumpkin Dumplin’,” “Miss Ghoul Girl,” and “Cobweb Queen.” So, no matter how old you are, you’ve got a horse in this costume contest race.
Oh, and there are a bunch of cool cars, trucks, bikes on display if you didn’t know what a car show was.

Right after you pick the kids up from daycare, head to Ryan Miller’s office in Joplin for a socially distanced drive-thru trick-or-treat. People, all of whom will be dressed to the nines in Halloween-y clothes, will be passing our candy from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Just stay in your vehicle and have a bag ready to collect your sugary bounty!

Thru the Looking Glass, Joplin’s large flea market is hosting their first-ever trunk-or-treat event in Joplin this year. Local vendors will be setting up tables and their own vehicles to hand out candy and treats to costumed kids. In addition to trunk-or-treating, this Halloween event will also be a flea market, so bring some cash and enough space to haul a refurbished dresser back home!
Need something big enough for that dresser? A 2022 Honda Ridgeline makes the most sense. It’s got a 4-foot-wide bed with a built-in trunk, allowing you to store (i.e., hide) your kids’ goodies till after they help you bring your finds into the garage. (Isn’t that why we have kids?)

The Joplin Humane Society’s Howl & Scream will host a trick-or-trunk all along their walking trail on Halloween weekend, and a special costume contest later in the afternoon. While you’re there, consider adopting one of the animals in the shelter.
